Finnish Industry Investment Ltd is reshuffling its Management Team and reinforcing the management of its direct investment operations. The focus is on accelerating growth and internationalisation
As from 1st July 2015, Finnish Industry Investment’s Management Team will comprise:
- Martin Backman, MSc (Tech), MSc (Econ) – President & CEO
- Anne Riekki, MSc (Econ), LLM – Director, Fund Investments
- Juha Lehtola, MSc (Tech) – Director, Venture Capital
- Jan Sasse, MSc (Econ) – Director, Growth Investments
- Kimmo Viertola, MSc (Econ) – Director, Industrial Investments
- Jouni Hakala, LLM, MBA – Director, New Investment Opportunities, Public Affairs
- Marko Häikiö, MSc (Econ) – CFO
Jan Sasse (47) has previously been a partner at Accenture, a director heading Norvest’s industrial investments and also CEO of Satama.
“The new Management Team and our newly defined areas of responsibility in direct investment support the implementation of Finnish Industry Investment’s new strategy. The strategic focus for direct investments is now on companies needing later stage venture capital financing, on medium-sized Finnish companies seeking international growth, and on industrial projects. The newly appointed personnel have solid experience in managing new investment projects and a proven track record of actively implementing value-creation plans in portfolio companies,” explains President & CEO Martin Backman.
Finnish Industry Investment invests in venture capital and private equity funds and also directly in companies in their growth, internationalising and restructuring phases. This improves the access of innovative growth companies to venture capital financing and enhances their opportunities for succeeding in international markets. Finnish Industry Investment’s assets under management amount to over €900m. The company currently invests in some 90 venture capital and private equity funds and directly in approx. 70 portfolio companies.
