International early-stage venture capital investor Antler has closed its fund for the second time at a size of EUR 70 million. The fund’s focus is on the Nordic countries and early-stage technology companies. The new fund is the second of its kind with a similar investment strategy managed by Antler, which globally manages a total of 17 venture capital funds. The fund’s fundraising continues, and the manager aims for a size of EUR 150 million.
Antler’s operating model is based on 12-week accelerator programs, where participants form teams and establish startups. The most promising of these are invested in from each geographical area’s fund.
“The new Nordic fund of Antler has a significant focus on Finland. In addition, the manager’s operating model is unique and develops and diversifies the local startup ecosystem. As Antler also actively advances sustainability in its portfolio, we are pleased to be able to bring a new player to the Finnish venture capital market,” explains Enni Rautio, Investment Director at Tesi’s fund investments team.
In addition to Tesi, investors include, among others SmartCap from Estonia. Tesi has not invested in the manager’s previous funds.
