Finnish smart ring company Oura is expanding its health and wellness service offerings by acquiring the domestic health tech company Veri (Human Engineering Health Oy). Veri’s product, a subscription-based app and sensor that measures blood glucose from interstitial fluid in the upper arm, is designed primarily for non-diabetics who want to monitor how their diet impacts their health.

This fall, Oura plans to release a new Meals feature, which provides insights into how meal timing affects sleep, stress, and recovery. Veri’s product will complement this new feature, offering users more detailed information on the impact of their diet. The acquisition was completed through a share exchange.

Both Oura and Veri are in Tesi’s portfolio; Oura since 2018 and Veri since 2022.

It is delightful to see Oura and Veri joining forces. This is a great representation of the strength of the Finnish personal health and wearable ecosystem, as well as the health and life sciences sector, which is also one of Tesi’s strategic investment themes,” comments Joni Karsikas, Investment Director on Tesi’s Venture Capital team.
