Homecare and household services pioneer Stella is acquiring Esperi Care Oy’s response alarm and homecare services, making Stella a countrywide operator in the homecare and household services sector.
“Our strategic intent has always been to actively develop our services, to expand nationally, and to strengthen our expertise in services provided at home. This merger is therefore a natural step,” comments Stella’s Chief Commercial Officer Mats Rönnback.
Stella’s operating area, until now Greater Helsinki and Tampere, will expand to cover the whole of Finland. Stella offers its customers response alarm services, medical care and other homecare services, physiotherapy sessions, household services and childcare – all provided in the customer’s home. These services will expand over the next few years to cover other high-growth towns and cities in the country.
“Finns want to live in their own homes for as long as possible, if they receive the high-quality services and support that they need. Our broad range of services enables people to do so,” says Rönnback.
Stella becomes Finland’s largest supplier of response alarm services as a result of the merger.
“We service some 35,000 alarm response customers throughout Finland, and we also provide these services to about 160 municipalities,” comments Stella’s Business Director Sini Juuti.
A response alarm enhances the sense of safety felt by a person living at home and gives the person more freedom to live and move around in his or her own home. In addition to conventional safety wristbands, Stella will now also supply locator bracelets with GPS tracking.
“We see great potential in deploying developing technology to benefit our customers and we’ll continue along the path paved by Esperi,” adds Juuti.
Considerable expertise in homecare services, developed by Esperi over decades, is transferred to Stella in the acquisition.
Esperi Care Oy will continue to offer a diversified range of assisted living services to senior citizens and special groups.
“We’re constantly looking for new and functional ways to make senior citizens’ lifestyles more pleasant for them and more cost-efficient for the municipalities helping them,” points out Esperi Care’s CEO Marja Aarnio-Isohanni. “We believe that Esperi home care and alarm response services is in good hands with Stella.”
Stella commended for its rush-free service
The seamless collaboration of Stella’s professionals produces a high quality of service, and Stella believes in providing that service without any rush.
“We want to make sure we continue to spend time with the customer,” adds Juuti.
