MB Funds has closed its seventh buyout fund at EUR 222 million

MB Funds, founded in 1988, is one of Finland’s most experienced private equity firms. It has now completed the fundraising for its seventh fund, MB Equity Fund VII. The buyout fund totals EUR 222 million, with commitments from existing investors in previous funds as well as new institutional investors.

The new fund continues MB Funds’ established investment strategy of making majority investments in profitable mid-sized companies with clear growth and value creation potential. As with its predecessors, the fund will disclose sustainability information under Article 8 of the SFDR.

“The fund supports Tesi’s objective of channelling capital to growth-oriented Finnish SMEs whose investments and internationalisation are held back by a lack of financing and slow market growth,” says Arttu Suominen, Investment Manager in Tesi’s Fund Investments team.

Tesi has been an investor in all of the GP’s previous equity funds. KRR V, the fund-of-funds managed by Tesi, also invested in the new fund, marking the first KRR investment in an MB Funds fund.
